Finding Website Niche Idea on eBay

Trying to find a profitable website niche can be very time consuming. Don’t believe all the good niches have been taken and it is too late to create a website because of too much competition.
A tip to help find your profitable website niche idea.
eBay is a great place to start looking for different niches.
On eBay’s home page you see many categories where people are selling products and all the listed categories have sub-categories.
Start looking at the sub-categories to help you in finding a website niche idea. there are thousands of products to review, so take your time looking.
If you have absolutely no idea about any web site niche, here is where it may be time consuming. take one or two of the categories which interest you.
Start looking at what is for sale. just remember, even though it is for sale on eBay does not mean it will be profitable for you to sell or promote on your website.
Further down the article I will give you some ideas to see if they could be used to create a website.
If you do have an idea for any niches, finding them may be a little easier for you.
Do a search and see what shows in the results.
- How many listed?
- Bids on them already?
- What is the average selling price?
- Many people selling the same item?
- If a lot of people are selling the same item, does the seller have more to offer (less shipping, a freebie included)?
- Is the seller a power seller, would you be able to compete with them?
Check the completed listings and see how they have sold in the last 90, 60 and 30 days.
Many beginners may pick only one idea and get frustrated when it does not work.
Try to work with three or four different ideas.
Then compare the different areas and see which one would be more profitable for you. Your profit-margin will be much different selling a $25.00 item to selling a $100.00 item.
So when comparing products, stick close to the same selling price for your different ideas.
Looking at the best selling items could also help you, but don’t make the mistake of trying to promote the newest hot product. Because it is a hot product today does not mean that within the next couple of months it will be profitable.
Then back to square one trying to find another product to promote. You could spend more time and money promoting the “hot product” for a few months then what it would take to promote products consumers use over and over again.
Using eBay can be an source to start looking for a website niche idea, but keep in mind they may sell great there, but will you be able to sell and/or promote them on your own website.
Take a look at the Internet and see if your ideas are out there. You might not have as much competition as you thought.
If you locate others selling/promoting the products,
- How are they doing it to make money online?
- Do they have different products which tie in together?
- Has the website been up for a long time or are they just starting?
Take some time searching for your website niche idea. Time spent now could be the difference of you building a website that may last for many years and you receiving some nice profit from it or building many websites and generating little to no income.
Don’t think eBay is the only place to look to help you locate profitable ideas for creating a website. to help you think outside the box, here are many more ways to find a website niche idea and get you going on building a web site.
